headshot for Steve DiBartolomeo

Steve DiBartolomeo started taking pictures in 1980 while a student at UC Santa Barbara. As a photographer and reporter for the university newspaper he shot hundreds of rolls of Tri-X specializing in gymnasts and dancers.

For 20 years photography was set aside to focus on a career selling electronics worldwide in the early 80's and starting a software company in late 80's.

In 1999, Steve joined the board of directors of Shakespeare Santa Cruz and the opportunity to take photos resurfaced. Steve's performance photos for SSC have been published in local papers including the Santa Cruz Sentinel, The Good Times, The Metro, The San Jose Mercury News and the San Francisco Chronicle. He also shoots regularly for the UCSC Opera and Theater Departments, San Francisco's Opera Parallele, Cabrillo Stage and Jewel Theatre.

Now that the company is firmly established Steve has dedicate more time to performance photography and taking portraits of actors, dancers and models in his studio on the west side of Santa Cruz. He has also expanded into product photography

He continues to search for interesting opportunities and regularly donates his time and services to non-profit perfomance groups in Santa Cruz.
